Evening Hair Rituals for Healthy, Restful Nights
A slow nighttime routine, oils, braids and silk, that lets your hair repair while you rest.
Hair, like people, repairs itself in safety and quiet. The night is eight hours of exactly that if we prepare the ground. This is not a twelve-step routine. It is three small kindnesses before sleep.
One: oil the ends
Two drops of a light oil, argan or jojoba, warmed between the palms and pressed only into the last third of your hair. The ends are the oldest, most weathered part of you that you still wear, treat them like heirlooms.
Two: braid loosely
A loose braid prevents the friction that roughens the cuticle overnight. Not tight, tight braids pull at the root all night. Think of it as tucking your hair into bed, not tying it down.
Three: sleep on silk
Cotton drinks moisture and grabs strands. Silk, or a good satin, lets hair slide. If one pillowcase is out of budget, a silk scarf tied loosely does the same work.
Healthy hair is rarely made in the salon. It is made in a thousand unremarkable nights.
Pure Mulberry Silk Pillowcase, reduces overnight friction and moisture loss, the single highest-impact change in this ritual.
Give the ritual three weeks. Hair keeps its own calendar, and it counts in months, not mornings.
